Coral Mine FAQs

Q. What are Coral Minerals?
Live coral is comprised of many colonies of identical living polyps, which are marine animals in the class Anthozoa. They’re typically protected by a hard shell, composed primarily of calcium carbonate along with other minerals, which is secreted by reef-building hermatypic corals. These hard shells form the basis of a coral reef.
Once coral dies the hard shell is left; this shell is a rich source of at least 74 naturally-balanced organic coral minerals. Coral minerals are taken from above-sea coral deposits that have been pulverized into an ultra-fine powder, maintaining the natural balance of all these minerals. This is important, because each mineral requires other minerals to provide maximum efficacy.
Coral minerals are highly-absorbable due to their natural ability to become ionic upon contact with moisture.
This natural ability to ionize, combined with the full spectrum of trace minerals present, makes coral a desirable form of calcium.

Q. How do Coral Minerals work?
Minerals are the basic foundation for health. From our bones to the multitude of enzymatic activities within and outside our cells, minerals are the keys that open the door to optimum health. This is accomplished by supplying the body with the necessary minerals that have crucial roles to play in good health. The calcium and other naturally occurring minerals in coral support the delicate pH balance of body fluids and tissues. Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body, making up 1.5-2% of its total weight. Coral Calcium contains mostly calcium carbonate, though the presence of other trace minerals is important to the action of this mineral supplement.
Coral Calcium is often used to increase the alkalinity of the blood and fluids when it gets too low. Low blood pH, often called chronic acidosis, is implicated in bone thinning and other nutritionally-related disfunctions.*
Many people in our society are mineral deficient because the soils have become depleted through unsustainable farming practices. When the minerals are supplied in an absorbable form, health can improve. Coral contains trace amounts of every mineral needed by the body and is known for their balance. Orthopedic surgeons use pieces of coral for bone grafts because the bone and tendons readily accept the coral.

Q. Is  Coral Calcium tested for heavy metals and radioactive elements?
Yes. Coral Calcium is tested for lead and other heavy metals. Independent analysis has proven this Fossilized Coral calcium to be free of dangerous radioactive elements.

Q. How much elemental calcium is in each serving of Coral Mine?
One sashet of Coral Mine (1g) contains 994 mg of powdered coral, 1 mg of Silver, and 5 mg of L-Ascorbic acid.

Q. Where does Coral Mine come from?
It is harvested from an above sea area near islands of Tokunosima and Okinawa. The present-day history of coral calcium Coral-Mine began in 1979, when the  administration of the Guinness Institute that  publishes the Guinness Record Book  sent a journalist on an official trip  to  the island of Tokunosima (close  to the island of  Okinawa in Japan) to interview  Mr. Izumi,  who  was officially known as the oldest  person in the world at that time. The journalist was astonished at that 115-year-old man being so healthy (he had been working till the age of 105!). Lots of residents of this island enjoyed good health and longevity.
At the journalist’s request, Mr. Izumi passed a complete medical examination.  The results were striking. How could   this man preserve his health to such an old age?   Soon, a group of scientists came to the island and made an important discovery: the only difference between all long-livers and the rest of the Japanese (as well as people from other countries) is a totally different quality of their drinking water.
It was important to find out the cause of this difference.  The source of drinking water for islanders from Tokunosima and Okinawa is rain-water that accumulates in natural reservoirs. These islands appeared on coral reefs like many other islands of the World Ocean. However, the coral of these islands is unusual, and it can be found only there.  Among 2500 coral types, this one has a unique composition of   elements, which are essential for a human being (such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, etc.) This is the very coral type that makes water curative.  Besides, its structure is similar to that of human bones, so, it’s widely used in prosthetics.
Having explored all these data, the Government of Japan granted a permission to exploit coral reefs around Okinawa.  There’s a unique  technology of coral mining  that allows to preserve the  most of  coral benefits without  endangering the environmental safety of living coral and coral reefs.
The end product was named “Coral-Mine”.
